Parents, activate the force field! What do we mean by this? Teens thrive when they know their parents love and accept them exactly as they are. That love is the protective force that allows teens to navigate life’s ups and downs. And that’s true whether your teen is gay or straight and regardless of their pronouns. Sadly, too many LGBTQIA+ teens endure challenges when they come out, making that protective, unconditional love force field from parents doubly important. So love your teen—exactly as they are.
