Teen Brains Are Amazing

The coolest change that comes with adolescence may be one you can’t even see: it’s a change in the way teens think. The fancy term for this is “cognitive development,” and this is the time when your kid learns how to make sound judgements and plan for the future. All you have to do is give your teen space for this change to happen. Value their ideas, engage them in giving their opinion, and acknowledge good decisions. Understand it’s a process, not an event, and your contribution to their thinking skills points your teen’s brain in the right direction.
