Nurture Your Teen’s Brain

Your teen has this amazing, developing brain — how do you nurture it? Give it fuel in the form of healthy food such as whole grains, fruits and vegetables, lean meats, nuts, and fish. Make sure they’re getting enough sleep by encouraging screen-free down time before bed. Finally, help them keep physically active by making time for exercise. It can be as simple as helping your teen find an activity they enjoy or inviting them on a walk. Use that walk together to hear how they view the world and encourage them by being warm and supportive.
