Teen Milestone: Arguing Thoughtfully

All that reasoning you do with your kid during their childhood gets turned around when the student becomes the master. In fact, parents may want to start a fight so they can witness the pure awesomeness of their teen’s first thoughtful argument. Unlike little kids, teens can formulate an argument and justify their point of view with fact-based evidence. It goes from “I wanna” to “I want to because of X, Y, and Z.”  That’s a powerful tool of expression that parents should celebrate… even when teens use it to push against boundaries.
