School Rules #4

Parents

What’s a bigger contributor to your teen’s academic success — extra math or extra English? Gotcha! That’s a trick question because the most important ingredient for academic success is… sleep. An extra hour of sleep is more valuable than an extra hour of studying. Research shows that sleep deprivation can be associated with depression and anxiety, so make sure your teen is prioritizing dreamtime. Help them fall asleep by giving devices a curfew a half hour before your teen’s bedtime and putting the phones in a space outside their bedroom so your teen isn’t tempted to peek at the screen. Sweet dreams!
