Self-Care as a Teaching Tool

There is something you can do today and everyday that will prepare your teen to thrive: Take care of yourself. Our instinct is to set aside our needs and give everything we’ve got to our kids, but that impulse doesn’t help them in the long run. Not only does it set you up for burnout, but you’re not modeling healthy behaviour for your child. How can your teen learn positive coping strategies if they don’t see you using them? Self-care is the farthest thing from selfish; it’s actually a way to prepare your teen for their future.
