Remember the first time your parents let you get behind the wheel of a car? Exciting for you and likely fear-inducing for them. But with lots of driving practice under the watchful eyes of a caring adult and working together to develop a safe driving plan, your teen will soon be cruising down the road. Teens who say their parents make rules and pay attention to their activities in a supportive way are half as likely to have a crash. Encourage two-way communication to establish mutual trust. Then move over and let your teen take the driver’s seat!
