Raise your hand if you believe that a parent’s job is to sacrifice all their needs in order to do things for their kids. Wrong! You may actually be setting your child up for a difficult adulthood if you don’t model self-care for them during their teen years. They’re learning from your actions how to weather life’s bumps and bruises. Running yourself ragged by always putting your needs last sets a terrible standard for your teen to emulate down the road. Your teen wants you to be happy, calm, and rested. So take care of yourself.
