Treat With a Retreat

Your teens are watching you. Okay, that sounds creepy… but what we mean is that teens draw their sense of safety from their parents. They pick up on your words, tone, and body language. It is natural to feel panic during challenging times, but set up a space in your home where you can deep breathe so you don’t spread the feeling to your teen. That may mean meditating for five minutes while sitting in an empty bathtub, but it’s worth it because those five minutes will make you more effective in offering a sense of calm to others.
