Getting Teens to Volunteer

There are plenty of benefits to volunteering including reduced stress and lower rates of depression, but how do you get a reluctant teenager to give back to their community? It starts by allowing teens to lead the way and find an activity that is meaningful to them. Got a teen who loves to read? Libraries often need volunteer storytellers to work with young kids. If your teen loves sports, encourage them to help coach a team of younger players. Whatever their interest, there is a way to use their talents and energy to help others.
