Remind Latinx Teens Your Family Has Their Back

Latinx families have turned to each other for support throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Defining oneself through family is so important to Latinx culture it even has a name- familismo. Teens who hold this value get a boost in their sense of meaning and purpose and self-esteem. Dr. Gabriela Livas Stein says as the country finds a new normal, the cultural values that got us through a global pandemic deserve to be celebrated and fostered in Latinx teens. Remind your teen you will continue to be there for them, even when you no longer spend your days together.
