Tools for Relaxation

Teens are under a great deal of stress, but you can help them manage it by giving them ideas for taking a mindful timeout. Have your teen identify a favorite scent and then take five minutes to deep breathe in the aroma. Encourage them to meditate by using a free meditation app. Or, better yet, put some movement into their lives by helping them find a yoga app or sign up for a local class. In all cases, relaxation comes from removing oneself from the stressors of everyday life and setting aside time to focus on something else.
