Become a Teen Emotion Coach

Get out of the way! Ooops, didn’t mean to shout that, but it is helpful advice for parents to hear. Sometimes the best thing you can do while parenting teens is to serve as an “emotions coach” and then get out of the way. Your teen is learning how to navigate the emotional world, and your job is to provide them with tools that will make their journey easier and successful. Fill their figurative travel sack with advice on getting enough sleep, eating well, and getting exercise. You’ll put them in a good position to deal with the emotional terrain.
