How To Teach Teens To Say No

Play bad cop to your teenager’s good cop to get them out of peer pressure situations. You don’t care what a bunch of teenagers think, so let them put the blame on you when turning down someone else’s bad idea. “No, I can’t drink. My annoying mom waits up for me and she’ll ground me if she smells alcohol.” Or set up a code word so your teen can discreetly text it to you, and you can “demand” that they come home, giving them a chance to roll their eyes and get away while saving face.
