Get Involved at Your Teen’s School

We hear you: It’s hard to volunteer at your teenager’s school. Maybe it’s your work schedule or other commitments at home. Maybe you are uncomfortable communicating with teachers because English isn’t your first language. There are practical reasons––transportation or childcare issues––and emotional: feeling insecure about your own education. Even though there are dozens of good reasons not to get involved, we’re still going to invoke that famous Nike ad and tell you: Just do it. Students are more successful when their parents are involved, and we have many ideas on how to get involved without leaving home.
