Three Steps Toward Rebuilding Trust Between Teens and Parents

More advice for teens by teens: You messed up, and you’re trying to regain your parents’ trust. Here are three things to keep in mind. Plan your conversations in advance. Talk with them at a calm and comfortable time and place. Make sure your parents aren’t dealing with their own stress. Next, make your intentions clear. Be upfront about them and admit you made a mistake and want to work to regain their trust. An apology goes a long way. Finally, work together with your parents to come up with a strategy you both agree on to regain trust.
