Catch Your Teen Being Good

One of the best discipline strategies comes when things aren’t in a state of chaos with emotions running high. Catch your teen doing something good. Noticing the positive can go far to stop the negative. Think about it this way: if you’re always focused on problems, you keep drawing attention to negative behaviour. Point out when they’re being helpful or kind, and you’ll make it clear that those are the actions you desire. Spend the next week pointing out and silently counting every positive decision or moment. Then see that number goes up.
