Keep Your Cool

Keep your cool. It’s simple advice on the surface, but dig a little deeper and prepare for your parenting mind to be blown. How you feel links to how you think, and emotions are contagious. Which means that feeling calm leads to a clear, problem-solving mind. While you can’t control someone else’s emotions, you can control your own and make them contagious. Take a step back in every situation and repeat the reminder, “calm, calm, calm” to yourself. Doing so will give you a greater chance in thinking clearly AND spreading that calm to your teen. So keep your cool.
