Karol Silva, PhD, MPH

Karol Silva, PhD, MPH, is a postdoctoral research fellow in the division of adolescent medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She earned her doctoral degree in developmental psychology, with a focus on adolescent development. She is broadly interested in studying how different social contexts and relationships (with peers, parents, and romantic partners) influence adolescent behavior and well-being, and how they ultimately impact adolescent development. Her current work at CPTC explores how parents’ perception of adolescents may influence teens’ psychological well-being. Her other line of work explores how parenting styles contribute to the development of self-control in adolescents
